Hi - some of you here very kindly helped get some more information on a Neue Klasse BMW 2000 for me. Well someone else bought the car, but I would like some more information about another 2000 I have seen advertised near Milan:
http://www.subito.it/bmw-anni-70-milano-9945403.htm
I have tried emailing a message from the ad in Italian but have had no answer. I tried calling today and obviously he doesn't speak English. Does anyone here know the car or have the time to call the owner and ask him to send some more information and pictures to my email address? Obviously the most important piece of information is the price!
Thanks for reading,
Nick Vyse, near Niza, Francia (nickvyse@yahoo.com)

Hi - I sent the SMS and asked if he would send one back to confirm he had received my details. Can I just double check the number as I have not heard back from him. I sent the SMS to +39 380 381 4577.
Does that look right to you? Cheers, Nick

Tried texting again today, but he hasn't replied or sent any photos yet. May be my poor translation was to blame - tell me how bad it was!

sometimes happens :(.
unfortunately often in italy we have many false buyers from other countries, they use google translator like u did. so a lot of times people is afraid of it ;).

I understand that - but Batmobile has spoken with the owner on the phone and arranged for him to email me photos before I drive 4 hours to view the car. I'm sure Batmobile would have explained I am a serious buyer.

Hi Batmobile. Is the seller a very old man? I haven't had any email or SMS from him and on Sunday I sent him my postal address so he could send some photos the old fashioned way, but still not heard anything from him.
I can take a few days off next week - do you think you could call and ask him if it's possible to view the car Tuesday or Wednesday?
Appreciate your help in this - and I know it's getting very boring!

Finally got to see the car on Sunday - may be someone can translate this into Italian so people can save wasting their time:
The car is situated in a dealers garage, right at the back, totally inaccessible. I couldn't even open any doors to get inside. You would have thought that more than one months notice and me driving 4.5 hours to view the car they could have got it out the garage for me.
This is also the reason why they could not send me photos as it is impossible to take any. They claimed they had problems with their computer.
They described the car as "concours". It is not. It has had a recent cheap and quick re-spray to hide any problems. It is probably a very good and solid shell, but needs a full and proper re-paint.
I'm sure it has done more than the 90,000kms stated - it shows 6,000 on the clock which judging by the seats means 206,000kms. The drivers seat has been badly patched.
The ignition barrel is missing. I don't know if the car runs. It has no brakes or clutch as there is no fluid in the reservoir.
That's all I can tell you - I left after 10 minutes.
Big thanks to Batmobile for helping communicate with the seller.
Cheers, Nick
